Assembly of First Nations Office

2024

The AFN unites all of First Nations in Canada. This unifying force is symbolized as soon as the visitors arrive. They are immediately imbued with the occupation of the ancestral territory by more than 600 communities and its approximately 900,000 indigenous people living throughout Canada. By showcasing the AFN’s unique collection of artworks across the different workspaces, it is easy to sense the rich and precious diversity of their identities.

To enter is to be guided by the power of traditional teachings helping the AFN, its employees and its partners to pursue their commitments with the aim of making communities prosper.

Val d’Or Quality Inn Hotel

2024

The Quality Inn Val d’Or needed an update. The challenge was to harmonize the original coverings with new finishes in order to create a stylish and trendy whole. We had the pleasure of updating the style of the entire hotel (bedrooms, dining room, meeting rooms, corridors, lobby) in order to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Given the client’s great sensitivity to indigenous culture, we had to feel the spirit of the Cree and Anicinape territory in the proposed design.

Kina8at Center

In progress

Based on the information gathering, the main objective is to honor the identity of First Nations. The medecine wheel and its four elements (water, fire, earth and air) are guides to healing. Through this meaningful project, its location and installations, Kina8at share with everyone the vision of Kitci T8ami. Together, reconciliation allow the Anicinape identity and ancestral way of life to rise.

The Galeries montagnaises

2010

The Galeries Montagnaises of Sept-Îles needed to be updated. The Société immobilière montagnaise wished this update to be representative of their culture and history. The interior layout had to represent an Innu gathering. Symbols of drums as lighting, spiral (symbol of continuity) as floor pattern, birch trees and a flight of geese have been integrated to the design.

AGESSS

2010

After acquiring an additional space, the A.G.E.S.S.S. wished to increase its area to meet their needs and create a rental space. The mandate consisted in adding a staircase between the two levels, relocate the reception and arrange a videoconference room, a lunch room, an archive room and several closed soundproofed offices.

La Garantie

The Guarantee, Insurance Company of North America, wished to redesign the reception and the adjacent conference room while keeping the reception desk style and antique furniture. They also wanted to add an adequate signage in the hall and finally, to valorize the artworks by choosing the appropriate frames.

Reception for the Syndicat des Cols Bleus regroupés de Montréal

2015

The Syndicat des Cols bleus regroupés de Montréal wanted to celebrate their 70 years of history by updating the lobby. At the same time, they wished to replace the front counter and solve some acoustic and lighting problems.  In addition to the soundproof ceiling and the built-in furniture, we have created a mural which represents the seventy years of the syndicate's history.

Mayaupiu Training Institute

2018

Cree Nation Government wanted to build a new training center in Wemindji. This institute will host an adult clientele wishing to acquire professional training. We have designed a floor pattern inspired by Cree traditional drawings. We also made murals showing inspirational quotes for the students visiting this culture-driven space.
